Here are three pieces of casting news for you in one handy article.  First up, Robert De Niro is in final negotiations to co-star in the Italian romance film Manual of Love 3.  According to Variety, De Niro will play a "divorced American professor living in Rome in one of the four 'chapters'," of the movie."  His role will partially be spoken in Italian.  Of course, this wouldn't be the first time that De Niro was required to speak Italian for a film.  Manaul of Love 3 will also be his first foreign-language production since the Bernardo Bertolucci 1976 film, 1900.

De Niro will next be seen in Robert Rodriguez' Machete, re-uniting with Edward Norton in Stone, and in the awful-looking Little Fockers.  He recently wrapped shooting on The Dark Fields with Bradley Cooper and The Killer Elite with Jason Statham.  Hit the jump for casting news regarding Max Von Sydow in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and model Brooklyn Decker in Battleship.

Yesterday, we reported the major casting news that Rooney Mara had landed the highly-coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  However, it turns out that wasn't the only Dragon Tattoo casting worth reporting.  Buried in a story about whether or not U.S. audiences will take to Dragon Tattoo, Variety mentions that Max van Sydow (Shutter Island) is in talks to play the key role of Henrik Vanger.  The film, like the novel, will be set in Sweden, where the legendary actor is from.  In the book, disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist is hired by Vanger to investigate his niece's 40-year-old disappearance.  The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is slated to open on December 21, 2011.

Finally, Latino Review reports that Brooklyn Decker will co-star alongside Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, and Alexander Skarsgard in Peter Berg's Battleship.  Kitsch plays the lead role of a naval officer and Decker will play his character's love interest.  Best known as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Decker has recently been making the transition to acting.  She's had guest spots on Ugly Betty and Royal Pains, and will be seen next year in the Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With ItBattleship is set for a May 18, 2012 release date.
