Last week, we got a new Chappie trailer, and now a U.K. version has gone online that provides a clearer idea of the film's arc.  The film tells the story of a robot, Chappie (voiced by Sharlto Copley), who’s part of a police force, but imbued with artificial intelligence that makes him question his purpose, and also provides a serious problem for the company that created him.  The U.S. trailer was more along the lines of how the world reacts to Chappie, but the U.K. version is about how Chappie relates to the world.  The latter gives a better idea of the plot, although it looks like this trailer covers almost the entire arc of the plot.

Hit the jump to check out the U.K. Chappie trailer.  The film opens March 6th, and also stars Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver, NinjaYo-Landi Vi$$er, and Jose Pablo Cantillo.

Here’s the official synopsis for Chappie:

Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy.  Like any child, Chappie will come under the influence of his surroundings – some good, some bad – and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man.  But there’s one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.
