Casting on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus seems to be moving right along. After mulling over the part for a while now, Variety reports that Charlize Theron has officially joined the cast as the character “Vickersâ€. What was previously developed as a prequel to Alien, Prometheus is a wholly original film from a script by Damon Lindelof (Star Trek, Lost). Noomi Rapace (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is set to headline the film, with Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) starring as well. Plot details are sparse but Scott maintains that keen fans will spot “Alien DNA†in the film. Prometheus is slated for June 3rd, 2012.
