The Huntsman: Winter’s War embraces its fantasy roots, mish-mashing Lord of the Rings, Frozen, Willow and just a dash of Snow White into a plot that (to be frank) is beside the point. Who really cares? You’re here to see some of the best dramatic actresses today (Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron and Jessica Chastain) let loose and chew up the scenery. And that’s pretty much exactly what you get.

Chris Hemsworth and Chastain share a bulk of the film’s screen-time together as lovers/huntsman – a term, which I guess, is gender neutral. In the film’s smartest move, it’s actually lead Hemsworth that is constantly beat up, outsmarted and one-upped by Chastain. Hemsworth seems to relish playing up the character’s more buffoonish tendencies, bringing shades of ‘Jack Burton’ to what was previously a pretty dour character.

In this interview with Hemsworth and Chastain, they discuss the importance of injecting comedy into the film, their favorite fantasy films, and the tricks to doing a Scottish accent. For the full interview, check out the video at the top of this article.
