Showtime has confirmed that City on a Hill will be returning to screens everywhere on July 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and to make things official, the network has released the long awaited trailer for Season 3.
Starring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge, Season 1 of the series, which is set in Boston during the early 1990s, centers around two very opposite men of the law. Audiences are introduced to a hardworking assistant district attorney named Decourcy Ward (Hodge) and a seedy but well respected FBI vet, Jackie Rohr (Bacon). A partnership that shouldn’t work, the two men find success when they join forces to tackle a gang of armored robbers who threaten to tear down Boston’s criminal justice system. Season 2 sees the seams holding Ward and Rohr begin to burst apart as questions swirl surrounding Rohr’s part behind the death of an assistant US attorney.
The trailer for Season 3 reveals even more drama behind Rohr and Ward’s working relationship as well as their interpersonal entanglements. Corruption in Boston is as heavy as ever as Ward continues along on his journey to dismantle the city’s seedy underbelly brick by brick. A man who looks like he’s on a path towards change, Rohr is beginning to question decisions he’s made in life and how he ended up where he is now. By the looks of it, fans who follow the series for its action packed drama based storylines will thoroughly enjoy the third season.
Along with SAG award winner Hodge and the Emmy nominated Bacon, City on a Hill Season 3 will also star Jill Hennessy, Lauren E. Banks, Matthew Del Negro, Corbin Bernsen, Joanne Kelly, and Ernie Hudson. As a surprise to no one, Boston born and bred writers and actors Ben Affleck and Matt Damon serve as executive producers on the series alongside Hodge, Bacon, Jennifer Todd, Jorge Zamacona, and Barry Levinson.

Season three of CITY ON A HILL brings us to Boston's high society Beacon Hill. Having left the FBI and thrown his badge into Boston Harbor, Jackie Rohr (Bacon) lands a lavish new gig running security for a wealthy family. Life is good until secrets begin to unravel. When an investigation opens, ADA Decourcy Ward (Hodge) sees an opportunity to finally rip out the machinery perpetuating a broken criminal justice system. Siobhan Quays (Banks), representing a construction worker who was severely injured on the Big Dig, encounters the city's corruption firsthand, all while coping with the traumatic events of her past year. As Jenny Rohr (Hennessy) can attest, given her history with her father, some experiences will haunt you beyond your breaking point.
