When Steven Spielberg hand-picked Colin Trevorrow to direct Jurassic World, the young director had only one independent feature film credit to his name. Fast forward to today, when Jurassic World is not only a box office goliath as the highest-grossing film of 2015 and the third highest-grossing film of all time, but also conquering the world on home video as the highest selling Blu-ray and DVD title of the year and the biggest live action Blu-ray release of all time. Just so we're clear, that all happened in a single week since the movie landed in stores. It seems Spielberg was on to something when he hired Trevorrow for the job, and the folks over at Disney and Lucasfilm think so too. Back in August, they picked Trevorrow to helm Star Wars: Episode IX, which is set to hit theaters in 2019.

In anticipation of the home video release, I recently spoke to the cast of Jurassic World, and while I was there I had to ask to ask the folks who worked with him first-hand why Trevorrow was the right guy to take on these major franchise sequels. Watch what they had to say below.
