One of the biggest pleasant surprises of 2015 was the seventh installment of the Rocky Balboa series, Creed. All eyes now are on the possible sequel which both MGM and Stallone himself are saying is absolutely happening. However, one major hitch. Director Ryan Coogler is currently in negotiations to possibly direct the upcoming Black Panther movie for Marvel and Stallone doesn’t seem to think that waiting for Coogler to finish that project is going to happen. He said the following: “There’s a diminishing time acceptance of a sequel. Three years is a little much.”

The Producers Guild of America has just released their list of nominees for their annual PGA awards coming up on January 23rd. Check out the full list of nominees here.

Speaking of the aforementioned Sylvester Stallone — On top of chatting about Creed 2, Sly also took a moment to address the long awaited Rambo 5 film that he has talked about several times of the last few years. Stallone seemed to indicate that a new Rambo is off the table for him now when he said the following: “The heart’s willing, but the body says, ‘Stay home!’” he says. “It’s like fighters that go back for one last round and get clobbered. Leave it to someone else.”

The first official poster for the upcoming Matthew McConaughey film Free State of Jones has hit the web. Set during the Civil War, The Free State of Jones tells the story of defiant Southern farmer Newt Knight, and his extraordinary armed rebellion against the Confederacy. Banding together with other small farmers, and with the assistance of local slaves, Knight launched an uprising that led Jones County, Mississippi to secede from the Confederacy, creating a Free State of Jones.

The box office watch on Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues. As of this moment, The Force Awakens sits just $10 million dollars behind Avatar for the #1 all-time domestic Box Office title and should surpass it in the next day or 2. But even more importantly this week, The Force Awakens passed both Furious 7 and the original Avengers movie to climb into the #4 spot on the all-time Worldwide box office record list, just $130 million behind Jurassic World for the #3 spot, but still $650 million behind Titanic for the #2 spot, and over $1.2 billion dollars behind Avatar for the #1 spot.

We are now about 12 weeks from the release of the highly anticipated Batman V Superman, and actor Henry Cavill was recently asked if any of the themes or story points in the new film are responses to criticism some people had with Man of Steel. Cavill said the following: “The reception of my first Superman movie, from what I’ve read, was fairly mixed. Everyone I’ve spoken to enjoyed the movie, but [not] unlike if you’re going to meet a stranger in the street, they’re not going to badmouth you to your face. There’s no intentional move, I don’t think, in Batman v Superman to address any issues that people had with Man of Steel. It’s just a continuation of that storyline and they continue to develop that world and introduce new characters.”

A V writes: Hello, I hope you guys had a great New Years Day, been a long time subscriber since 2012 back in the AMC days. My question is, do you think WB will spoil more of the Batman v Superman movie on that special they have on January 19, since they showed way too much on the last trailer?
