The late night television landscape went through a serious sea change over the past couple of years, but included in the evolution of the genre is one of its best—albeit underrated—entries: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Jerry Seinfeld started the web series in 2012 as a sort of new kind of talk show, one in which the entire conceit is that each episode finds Seinfeld riding in a car and getting coffee with a fellow comedian. The result is some seriously tremendous conversation, and Seinfeld has nabbed nearly every late night personality from Jay Leno to David Letterman to Seth Meyers for past episodes, even upping the ante last season with a wonderfully candid President Barack Obama installment.

And now the trailer for Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Season 8 has landed online, teasing a whole slew of exciting new guests including John Oliver, Margaret Cho, Judd Apatow, J.B. Smoove, Jim Gaffigan, and SNL producer/legend Lorne Michaels. It’s the latter that has me the most excited, as Michaels is something of an enigma and yet has been a staple of the comedy world for decades.

The web series is really funny, but it also gets surprisingly poignant from time to time, especially in the case of the late Garry Shandling’s episode, which is even more tragic in hindsight. So check out the trailer for Season 8 below, which starts on June 16th with new episodes going up on the show's website every Thursday. And head over to the official website to spend the rest of your day catching up with past episodes. I assure you, it's time well spent.
