With the release of The World’s End later this month, writer/director Edgar Wright, co-writer/star Simon Pegg, and star Nick Frost complete their “Cornetto Trilogy” of loosely-related films that began with the excellent one-two punch of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.  To celebrate the release of The World’s End—which is a fantastic capper to the trilogy (read Matt’s review here)—theater chains across the United States are hosting screenings of all three films back-to-back on August 22nd, offering fans the chance to experience three movies worth of cinematic brilliance all in one sitting.

AMC, Regal, and the Alamo Drafthouse are all participating, so odds are pretty great that there’s a Cornetto Screening at least within driving distance of where you live.  Hit the jump for more info on the screenings.  The World’s End opens in US theaters everywhere on August 23rd.

More screenings are being added by the day, but right now AMC, Regal Cinemas, and the Alamo Drafthouse all have multiple Cornetto Trilogy screenings planned across the country:

Further screenings are expected to be announced in the coming days, so keep an eye out if you don’t see your local theater on the list.  I caught The World’s End at Comic-Con and can attest to its greatness.  The script is as smart, hilarious, and heartfelt as you’d expect from the Cornetto team, Pegg and Frost deliver wonderfully nuanced, career-best performances in the lead roles, and Wright crafts some of the most exciting and inventive fight sequences you will see all year.  Don’t miss this one, folks.
