Exclusive Clip from ‘Costume Quest’ Teases Amazon’s Newest Animated Series

     March 7, 2019

Now’s the time to get on board Costume Quest, the latest animated series from Frederator Studios (Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors, Castlevania). Folks who have been fans of the cult hit video game since its arrival in 2010 know what viewers around the world are in store for when the show arrives on Amazon Prime tomorrow, Friday, March 8th, but we have an extra little tease for the show to share with you today.

The original game concept for Costume Quest was created by staffers at Double Fine Productions in one of their sessions they call “Amnesia Fortnights,” where small groups come up with prototypes for potential video games. Then, bucking the usual trend of multi-year development, the Costume Quest game was fully completed within 12 months. The award-winning game’s real hook was its story about four kids facing off against the dark forces lurking in the shadows of their sleepy town of Auburn Pines. To overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, they must learn to unlock and master the magical powers of super-normal costumes, each with a new set of transformations and powers.

Originally created by Tasha Sounart, a Double Fine alum who is now at Pixar, and co-written by Double Fine CEO and founder Tim Schafer, the game will now move into animated series territory thanks in part to the executive producing team at Frederator Studios including Will McRobb (Adventures of Pete & Pete), who also serves as story editor and one of the executive producers. Costume Quest is a funny and mysterious animated series aimed at six to 11-year olds, and fans of all ages who love the video game, and we have an exclusive clip from the series for your viewing pleasure!

Before we get to the clip itself, be sure to give the trailer for Costume Quest a watch and get a feel for what the show’s about:

Wren, Reynold, Everett and Lucy face off against ferocious, nougat-munching monsters that lurk in the shadows of the sleepy town of Auburn Hollow. They must learn to use their imaginations to unlock the magical powers of their homemade costumes and save the universe on a night where monsters reign…Halloween!

And now, here’s our exclusive clip! In it, a monster is lurking in the Nougatown factory and amusement park, but the kids are at odds over whether or not to warn a group of tourists about it. Everett and Reynolds both have very different opinions, as you’re about to find out:

If you still want more Costume Quest, not only can you watch the series on Amazon Prime starting tomorrow, you can also play Costume Quest and Costume Quest 2 on Steam, and check out the graphic novel inspired by the original video game: Costume Quest: Invasion of the Candy Snatchers, written by Zac Gorman.
