Courtney Cox has agreed to star in a half-hour comedy pilot for ABC called " Cougar Town." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cox will play "an attractive, newly-single, 40 year old mom with a 17 year old son." At what point this 'attractive mom' starts trying to get her son's friends drunk and naked was not revealed in the article.

"Cougar Town" is the brainchild of "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence. After Cox guest starred in three episodes of "Scrubs" recently, Lawrence asked her to become his cougar. "It felt like a perfect fit," Cox said, conveniently leaving out the part about being a bit less fussy about her projects now that "Dirt" has been canceled.

Lawrence got his inspiration for the series, which has been granted a greenlight to film its pilot, from his own wife. "Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free," Lawrence said, "People don't do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing." So I guess we know what's been going on in the Lawrence bedroom then – thanks for that image.
