Danielle Brooks and Marchánt Davis lead The Day Shall Come, director Christopher Morris' feature follow-up to Four Lions. As Morris describes, the movie is based on 100 true stories and involves an impoverished preacher who's offered the money he needs to save his family from eviction. The thing is, he doesn't know that the money is coming from the FBI and that the Bureau has plans to turn on him, turning him into a criminal. As the film's SXSW synopsis states, "It is harder to catch a real terrorist than it is to manufacture your own."

With The Day Shall Come celebrating its World Premiere in Austin at SXSW, we got the opportunity to chat with Brooks and Davis about their experience making the film. We discuss the movie's true roots, what it was like signing on to a film without seeing the script, and so much more. You can watch that and catch Brooks and Davis playing a round of Collider Random Questions in the video interview at the top of this article. And, if you'd like, you can find a description of the full conversation below.

I’d also like to take a moment to give special thanks to our Collider Studio partner, A-List Communications. At the Moonfire Lounge venue in Austin, libations were flowing courtesy of Tequila Comisario, Blue Moon Belgian White, Line39 Wine, and Hint Water. Without these fine folks, we wouldn’t be able to share conversations about movies like The Day Shall Come with all of you, so another big thank you to our partners for their support.
