Hollywood tough guy Danny Trejo has optioned the rights to a film centered on NBA player Paul Millsap. Tentatively titled Ambition, Deadline reports that the film will focus on Millsap's relationship with his uncle/mentor and current agent, DeAngelo Simmons and their efforts to get Millsap into the National Basketball Association. Selected in the second round of the 2006 NBA draft, Millsap is currently a 6th man type player for the Utah Jazz, coming off the bench and doing the dirty work on the hardwood. In his four seasons with the Jazz, Paul Millsap has averaged nearly 24 minutes, 10 points and 6 rebounds per game. The Utah Jazz are currently vying for playoff seeding in the highly competitive Western Conference. Not that this will happen (because the LeBron Jameses will be NBA champions this season), but if by some divine intervention the Utah Jazz win an NBA title this season, wouldn't that be a great way to end Millsap's movie? As Deadline reported, this film could have a similar feel to the recently released The Blind Side. I hope Danny Trejo strong arms Sandra Bullock into playing Millsap's uncle/mentor, gender and race be damned.
