We’ve already seen a lot of footage of Daredevil’s upcoming battle with Punisher in season 2 of Netflix’s Marvel series, but now it’s time for Elektra to make her debut. After teasing the character’s appearance (via Elodie Yung) in the trailer and images, here’s your first look at the martial arts, sai-wielding badass in full costume.

Following promos and posters for Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), a chained up Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), the latest bit of marketing from the streaming service finally shows off Elektra in her full glory. Yung is no stranger to martial arts — she has more than a decade of training backing her black belt, and she’s had a similarly physical role prior to Daredevil season 2 in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Now, you can check her out below beating a man senseless on a Hell’s Kitchen rooftop.

Yung teased of her character to us:

We think Elektra is a sociopath. This world is a game for her. It’s like a chess game, and what motivates her is what she wants. She’ll use anything she needs to use to get to her goal, and if she needs to kill people, she will. She has this coldness in her, and I tried to keep that. But on the other hand, we wanted to create a character with different layers. I think Elektra isn’t a bad person, but she’s not a good person. She’s a person with different traits, with layers, and she’s seeking who she is. In this season, there’s an arc to her story. Hopefully, she’ll find we’ll find out who she is, by the end of it.

Similarly to Punisher, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said that Elektra will shake up the events of season 2. We’ll see exactly how when Daredevil season 2 will hit Netflix on March 18th.
