Matt Murdoch's mentor turned abandonment-issue, Stick (Scott Glenn), is officially set to return for Daredevil Season 2. For those who need a refresher, Stick was another blind badass who took young Matt Murdoch under his wing, teaching him how to fight and survive before hard-core abandoning the kid. Season 1 saw Stick reunite with Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox) as he developed his persona as Daredevil. Stick stuck around just long enough to assassinate a child (or weapon, depending on who you ask), give Matt a stern talking to for becoming soft, and get his ass kicked in the process, before heading out the door once again.

Season 1 revealed that Stick, being the hard-ass bastard that he is, walked out on young Matt when the child made him a paper friendship bracelet. With that story in mind, check out Netflix' heartbreaking announcement for the character's return.

Filming on Season 2 kicked off back in July for an anticipated mid-2016 return on Netflix. Glenn joins returning cast members Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. As well as Vincent D'Ofrio as Season 1 big bad, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin -- though I'd expect him to take more traditional mob boss role in Season 2, pulling strings from inside his cell to al kinds of trouble for Daredevil in the streets of Hell's Kitchen.

Newcomers to season two include Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher and Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios. It was rumored that Bullseye would make an appearance in the second season, though the fact that there's no casting announcement or set photos at this point implies he may not play a role in Season 2 after all, or perhaps a very small one. Unless, of course, Netflix and Marvel are being very sly and keeping it all under wraps.

Daredevil Season 2 is currently in production and will debut on Netflix sometime in 2016. For more on Daredevil, take a look at some of our recent coverage below:
