Although we have Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and now Agent Carter, the Marvel Cinematic Universe on television will really begin to expand with the Netflix series, which will kick off with Daredevil, and a new image from the show has landed online.  The show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch, blind lawyer by day, blind superhero by night.  Although it's part of the MCU and has the freedom of Netflix, showrunner Steven DeKnight cautions fans that they "shouldn't come to this expecting me to deliver the Spartacus of Marvel," but also tells USA Today that the platform provides the opportunity to "explore morally gray areas, where you're rooting for the bad guy and questioning the good guy, which is more difficult on network TV."

As we previously reported, the show will focus on the rise of both Daredevil and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), and that sounds like an interesting power dynamic that doesn't have to get bogged down in other elements of Daredevil's mythos like Elektra and Bullseye.  This is an origin story (hence the black costume) and there's no need to rush it, especially if the larger goal is setting up a big crossover movie with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.  Hit the jump to check out a new Daredevil image.  The show premieres this spring.
