*very specific spoilers, somehow, for Dark Phoenix

If you caught the most recent trailer for 20th Century Fox's latest X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix, you might have been surprised to see what looked like confirmation that Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique dies in the film. Like, they showed that, then went on the internet to confirm that yes, they showed that. Luckily, the just-released international trailer for director Simon Kinberg's film didn't go with a close-up of Michael Fassbender getting shot in the face, instead opting for a decent amount of new footage. (Mostly from the rocket ship scene we saw at last year's Comic-Con.) In all seriousness, this might actually be the best Dark Phoenix trailer out there.

I'm still probably more on board with this movie than most and this trailer does a good job explaining why. Sophie Turner is a mutant outer-space force of nature and literally the entire world is afraid of her. Jessica Chastain plays her devious alien mentor. These are positives, people.

Check out the trailer below. Dark Phoenix—which also stars James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, and Evan Peters—hits theaters on June 7.

Here is the official synopsis for Dark Phoenix:

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
