I was already excited to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and then came a string of ecstatic reactions to the film with some calling it not only the best film of the summer but one of the best films of the year.  That's some serious praise, and yet I'm not totally surprised.  Rise of the Planet of the Apes gave us a strong central character with Caesar, the potential to push the story into new and interesting places, and digital effects only continue to get better.  This is a blockbuster that could deliver in a big way.

And here's the official synopsis:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
