Why hasn't Andy Serkis landed at least an Oscar nomination, again?  Yes, I know the argument against him is one part computer-aided performances and one part old-fashioned academy voters, but as this new behind-the-scenes video from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes shows, there's rather a lot of human expression beneath the apes' hairy, computer-generated exterior.  If nothing else, this short video will introduce you to the various hero apes by name (though it leaves the names of the actors on the sidelines).  As a bonus, you'll also get a taste of composer Michael Giacchino's score in this sample.

Here’s the official synopsis for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
