20th Century Fox has released a new NSFW Deadpool 2 trailer. In the upcoming sequel, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) will face off against Cable (Josh Brolin), a futuristic freedom fighter with cybernetic enhancements and all sorts of family drama. Director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde) is behind the camera this time to shoot the script from returning writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The movie looks like a total blast, combining the raunchy, irreverent humor of the first movie with the A+ action chops of Leitch. They’re also not shying away from the X-Force stuff. The larger question is whether or not audiences will warm to Cable, who’s on a mission to kill a kid. Presumably, he’ll have a change of heart by the end of the movie, but it makes him a tough antagonist for sure. At the very least, all of the Deadpool stuff looks terrific, and I’m not surprised the movie has done well at test screenings.
Also starring Zazie Beetz, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapicic, and Karan Soni, Deadpool 2 opens May 18th.
