Fox’s Deadpool has been crushing box office records since its opening in February. Now, with news of its May release date for the movie’s Blu-ray, they hope to continue that financially successful trend in the home movie department. Ryan Reynolds himself took to Twitter today to announce that Deadpool would be arriving in Blu-ray format on May 10th, though in the spirit of the April 1st pseudo-holiday of April Fools’ Day, also lamented the other video formats that movie would never appear on, sadly.
Also starring Morena Baccarin (Copycat), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Gina Carano (Angel Dust), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), and Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), you can bring Deadpool and his friends home on Blu-ray in just over a month.
Here’s Reynolds’ special April Fools’ Day announcement for the very real release of Deadpool on Blu-ray (not so much the LaserDisc and the VHS, however):
I’m coming… on Blu-ray MAY 10.
Also, non-existent special edition VHS and LaserDisc, 19 years ago. pic.twitter.com/WE28cJbW1G

Here’s the official Deadpool synopsis:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
