20th Century Fox has yet to officially confirm what it’s showing off at its San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday evening, but thanks to a little logic and that new Entertainment Weekly cover, it’s been pretty obvious that Deadpool will have a presence, and now Ryan Reynolds confirmed it. While talking to Reynolds for his upcoming release, Self/less, I asked him if he’s packed and ready to go to Comic-Con. Here’s what he said:

“Yeah, I am ready to go. I’m really excited about it actually. I’ve only been there once and it’s mayhem, but, you know, we’re coming in with a ton of goodwill and a truly great film so I’m really happy about that.”

As one might expect, Reynolds wouldn’t reveal any specifics about what they’ve got planned, but we do know that Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld’s got a pretty neat contest of sorts in the works. In honor of the 24th anniversary of the character, he’s hiding 24 sketches of the Merc with a Mouth in the convention center, the Gaslamp Quarter, local restaurants and some parties as well.

Beyond that, now that Reynolds confirmed he’ll be on hand for the event, it’s probably safe to assume that Deadpool will be in Hall H for the Fox panel at some point on Saturday between 5:45 and 7:30pm. As for what they’ll show, your guess is as good as mine, but footage seems like a guarantee considering director Tim Miller wrapped production a little over a month ago.

We’ll let you know what goes down in Hall H as soon as the panel wraps up on Saturday. And if you’d like to keep an eye on all of Collider’s Comic-Con coverage, you can follow along right here.
