“We interrupt this insane violent romantic mayhem with...well, more of the same.” So read Ryan ReynoldsTwitter account before unleashing a new sneak peek of Deadpool hot off its TV debut during The Bachelor. Though the footage is more of the same — Deadpool vs. Ajax, some classic merc with the mouth sass, and Reynolds’ signature superhero abs — Deadpool himself is feeling the love tonight. Could be because he already walked away with a rose.

“You’re probably thinking, ‘My boyfriend said this was a superhero movie.’ Surprise! This is actually, lucky you, a love story,” Reynolds’ Wade Wilson says in the new TV spot. I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt because these lines are likely pegged to the show’s typical viewership, who’s apparently not all that well versed in the latest on the superhero movie front. Nevertheless, it’s important to remind us all during this #GamerGate age that people who like watching women do whatever it takes to win the heart of a stranger during an emotional gauntlet also enjoy watching a masked man hack ’n’ slash his way through bloodied bodies.

Watch the Deadpool preview, which clearly knows what it’s doing. (It’s titled “Blatant Bachelor Baiting TV Spot.”)

Directed by Tim Miller, the film tells the story of Wade, an ex Special Forces Operative who undergoes off-the-book surgery that leaves him with accelerated healing and all around f-ed up. The cast is made up of Morena Baccarin (Copycat), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Ed Skrein (Ajax), Gina Carano (Angel Dust), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), and Leslie Uggams (Blind Al).

The Fox film has been putting the character’s fourth wall-breaking persona to good use. The character, who has been breaking said wall of the film’s promos, does so again with The Bachelor’s, even going as far as to live tweet the episode. Some choice niblets include, “Trust your intuition, girls. It’s gotten you this far. And by this far we mean flossing some dude you just met on TV.”

Deadpool will debut in theaters on February 12th.
