Publisher Sega and game developer CyberConnect2 have announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles has officially received a Nintendo Switch worldwide release date of June 10. The game has been released on other consoles since October 15 and has received mostly positive reactions.

Switch players can expect to have the base game as well as all content updates since launch, which include new characters, new missions that lead to Kimetsu reward points for more rewards, and gameplay changes for smoother combat.

Gameplay involves players participating in arena battles with a variety of different characters who all bring their own set of skills to the fight; these challenges can be fought online or locally. There will also be several boss battles to complete as the main storyline unfolds. The overall plot follows that of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series it is based on. The original anime voice cast in both Japanese and English returned to reprise their character roles, which in turn makes the game feel more authentic and true to the popular show.

A physical copy of the game is expected to be released sometime soon and is currently available for pre-order. This version will include the base game, of course, but also a Kimetsu Academy Character Unlock Key - it's only for the limited-time launch version, though.
