We do a lot of screenings for “fun” movies, and it’s super easy to give away passes for films like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Wonder Woman. But I also love when we can promote important movies, and that’s the case with Detroit. It’s not an easy watch, but it’s a must-see film that will terrify, infuriate, and confound you. It’s a powerful piece of filmmaking that will definitely have you talking about the picture long after the credits have rolled. If you like thoughtful movies made by insanely talented filmmakers, you can’t miss this one.

I’m pleased to announce we’re giving away 25 admit-two passes to the Atlanta screening of Detroit. To enter for a chance to see the movie early and for free, send an e-mail to Collider.Passes@gmail.com with the subject line “DETROIT”. The screening is on Tuesday, August 1st at 7pm at Regal Hollywood 24, so please don’t enter if you think you’ll be unavailable. Multiple entries from a single person will disqualify all entries from that person.

Check out the trailer for Detroit below. The film opens in limited release on Friday before going wide on August 4th. It stars John Boyega, Will Poulter, Algee Smith, Jacob Latimore, Jason Mitchell, Hannah Murray, Kaitlyn Dever, Jack Reynor, with John Krasinski, and Anthony Mackie.

Here’s the official synopsis for Detroit:

From the Academy Award winning director of THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY, DETROIT tells the gripping story of one of the darkest moments during the civil unrest that rocked Detroit in the summer of ‘67.
