MySpace has a lot of problems. Even after its redesign, it still feels like Social Networking 1.0 while the sleeker, better-organized Facebook continues to lead the way (worthless apps not withstanding). Still, because it managed to be first, it also snagged a lot of high profile talent who continue to use its various tools as a way to reach their fanbase. Edgar Wright is using MySpace brilliantly these days as he keeps a daily photo blog that also provides little hints and peeks at his upcoming film, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World". Today, MySpace alerts us to three filmmakers that have recently updated their profiles and would like to be your friend: "Watchmen" director Zack Snyder, "Donnie Darko" director "Richard Kelly", and "Coraline" director Henry Selick. You should befriend all these gents so you can get the latest updates on their upcoming projects. The term "friendship" may be devalued on MySpace, but getting the latest information and fun surprises is certainly worthwhile.
