Disney and game developer Kabam have revealed more details regarding their upcoming RPG game, Disney Mirrorverse. The details were outlined in an exclusive online event where a new trailer showcased all-new action and classic Disney and Pixar characters ready for battle. The game is open for pre-registration and is expected to be released worldwide on the App Store and Google Play on June 23.
Disney Mirrorverse, separate from the familiar world of Disney canon, is just as magical with light and dark magical lands and creative takes on the usual Disney backdrops. The featured characters are familiar Pixar and Disney creations from your favorite movies. In this spin on the classic Disneyverse, these beloved characters are now the battle-ready Mirrorverse Guardians, who players can form teams with and take on quests to recover Mirrorverse lands infested with Fractured Magic. Ever wondered what Sully would look like in a yellow armored battle suit, or what Mulan’s special attack in a combat RPG would be? This game answers that question and more!
The game will feature an original storyline as players strive to fight against a new enemy, the Fractured. Players will experience brand-new worlds with their customized 3D Disney characters and will uncover their backstories as they discover special abilities that will come in handy throughout combat and the overall adventure. Combat is expected to be in real-time as players determine individual actions as well as team strategy and special attacks. However, there’s also an “autoplay” option that lets the battle play out in a cinematic way.
Story mode allows players to take part in the original storyline, which includes the story of the Mirrorverse and the Ages of Isolation, Discovery, and the Fractured. Story quests will be updated every few months and will feature additions to the main story along with side stories that feature different villains and heroes. Event quests will consist of limited-time features that tie into real-world Disney and Pixar content and events. There will be more characters, awards, and progression items available during a specific time. Alliance Missions will have players join an Alliance to reach milestones and earn rank-based rewards by challenging other Alliances.
Other expected content includes the Tower of Troubles, which involves players using themed teams of Guardians working through increasingly different levels to earn progression items. There will also be Dangerous Dungeons that allow players and alliances to compete against each other worldwide in ever-changing dungeons that will earn them progression items and extra unique awards.
Disney Mirrorverse will have monthly updates that include character, chapter, and event quest additions as well as other creative content.
