With the final installment of the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay – Part 2, now in theaters, I recently sat down with President Snow (Donald Sutherland) to talk about the series. What could have easily been a number of cash-grabby, teen-pandering films unexpectedly turned into a great franchise that I believe will stand the test of time. The fact is, you can only make a great series of films if you care about the characters and universe, and directors Francis Lawrence and Gary Ross (who directed the first Hunger Games movie) have done just that.

During my interview with Donald Sutherland he talked about getting to work with Jennifer Lawrence, collaborating with Francis Lawrence, the way he likes to work on set, and how staying true to the characters and film without pandering to audiences or focus groups is what has made it great. Check out what he had to say below.

Donald Sutherland:

  • Any memorable moments from filming?
  • How does he like to work on set?
  • What was it like collaborating with Francis Lawrence?
