The Comic-Con poster for Troy Nixey's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is one you're going to want to track down if you're at the convention this year.  Nixey's a comic book artist so he drew up a poster that does away with bland and goes for something unique.  And not only should this poster be on your radar, but also the film itself since Guillermo del Toro co-wrote the script and is a producer on the flick.  I don't think I need to do any more to sell you on the film.  Nixey and del Toro will be providing a first look at the film's panel in Hall H on Friday at 2:15.

For those who need a brief refresh on what the movie is about, Dark centers around a young girl (Played by Bailee Madison) who is sent to live with her father (Guy Pearce) and his girlfriend (Katie Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating.  Hit the jump to check out the poster.  Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is set to open on January 21, 2011. [Update: There's also a new image, which you can also check out after the jump]

Poster comes courtesy of CHUD.com, whose owner and editor-in-chief Nick Nunziata is also a producer on the film and who will be moderating the panel on Friday.  Click on the poster to  embiggen.
