Viewers who are fans of stories about cults have another series to add to their watching list. The Horror Collective YouTube channel has released a new trailer for the limited series Doomsday.

The series follows the daily lives of the residents of a millennial cult, where youthful idealism evolves into deadly extremism and documents the eerie final months leading up to a horrific Jim Jones-style massacre. The trailer begins with showing two girls in the woods. One of them confesses to the other that she lied to her about bringing her to a yoga retreat. The trailer then shows clips of the members of the cult, all dressed similarly in raggy clothes that are either white or light brown. A voice-over tells the members of the cult that they are helping and saving people. Another quick shot shows a girl wearing a pig mask. Towards the end of the trailer, one member has another member repeat back to them that the cult is not doing anything wrong. It then concludes with two members deciding they need to kill someone.

The series' cast includes Alice Kremelberg (who played Percy Muldoon in The Sinner), Donald Paul (who played Credric in Queen of the South), and Mark St. Cyr (who played Benjamin Mazzara in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). The series will also star Ellen Toland, Karin Agstam, Sara Cicilian, Kelsey Lynn Stokes, Barron A. Myers, and Lori Cardille. Agstam is also a producer for the show.

The series was created by Sonja O'Hara. She will also star, as well as be a writer, producer, and director for the series. O'Hara recently told IndieWire that she was inspired to write the series after being cast in Scientology instructional videos. "I became intrigued by the polarity between the public and private facades of secretive religious groups," said O'Hara. Jaspal Binning will also have multiple titles in the series as an actor, director, and producer. Justin Holt, Dan McBride, and Micah Stuart also directed episodes of the series. Stuart was also a co-writer with O'Hara. Doomsday was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Daytime Fiction Program category in 2021. It has also won awards at The New York Television Festival, ITV Fest, and HollyWeb Fest. The series was also honored at the Webby Awards and nominated for a Streamy Award.

Doomsday will be available on-demand and multiple VOD services on March 1. In the meantime, fans can currently watch the new trailer below:
