It’s huge that 2012’s Dredd amassed such an enthusiastic cult following, but the film only took in $35.6 million at the worldwide box office so it’s no wonder that the fate of the sequel is still so uncertain.  However, producer Adi Shankar isn’t going to let that stop him from bringing us more Dredd.

While we continue to keep our fingers crossed for Dredd 2, Shankar is going to hold us over with a web series called Superfiend.  When we first told you about it a couple of weeks ago, it seemed as though it’d follow in the footsteps of Shankar’s past “Bootleg Universe” installments, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry and Venom: Truth in Journalism, run with a live-action format and possibly feature stars from the film, but Superfiend is actually an animated series.  Hit the jump to get a sense of what’s coming in our exclusive poster and Dredd miniseries images.

Superfiend is part of the “Bootleg Universe” so it isn’t officially connected to the Dredd film, but it is meant to be somewhat of a sequel.  It also has roots in the Dark Judges story arc and is expected to play up the satirical tone of the source material as well.  You can check out our exclusive screen shots and poster below, but also be sure to keep an eye out for the Superfiend teaser trailer, which is due out via Machinima tomorrow, followed by the full trailer on Thursday, October 23rd and then the miniseries itself on Monday, October 27th.

Let us know what you think of the images and series in the comments below.
