One of the most highly anticipated video games of 2022 has just been delayed. Dying Light 2 Stay Human will release in six months for the Nintendo Switch. Other consoles are still set to see the game’s launch on February 4. Sorry to all Nintendo Switch fans. The game’s developer, Techland, has asked for patience in their decision to delay the game for Nintendo Switch, as they are working hard to deliver a smooth cloud version experience on the platform. There has not been any statement regarding a definitely set date in the future, but it is expected to be within six months.

This is not the first delay for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, however. It was originally set to release in January 2020, but delayed to December 2021—then another delay pushed the game to its current set release date of February 4. During that time, the CEO of Techland, Pawel Marchewka, stated that the game was complete but they needed more time to “polish and optimize” it.

The Dying Light franchise made its debut in 2015 with the release of Dying Light by Techland in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The first game of the series is best described as a first-person horror survival game. The plot revolved around Kyle Crane, an undercover agent on a mission to infiltrate a quarantine zone in the Middle-Eastern city of Haran. The player traverses through zombie-infested areas throughout the city in search of an important file being used for blackmail. Things take a turn when Crane figures out he’s not the only living person left in the area.

The game also had a multiplayer co-op mode where players gain experience points or have the option to play as a zombie and infiltrate other servers. It received mixed reviews upon release and, as of December 2019, has been played by more than 17 million players.

Dying Light 2 Stay Human begins 20 years after the events of Dying Light and follows protagonist Aiden Caldwell. The plot is more malleable in the sequel compared to the first installment of the series. The City, located in Europe, is broken into factions and the story and world change as the player goes along with various missions and makes important decisions throughout gameplay.

Look forward to playing Dying Light Stay Human 2—Cloud Version this coming February 4 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Nintendo Switch fans should look forward to more details regarding a concrete release date sometime this year.
