Get ready to see a lot of Elijah Wood this fall because he’s got two movies hitting theaters, Cooties and The Last Witch Hunter. The latter stars Vin Diesel as Kaulder, the witch hunter responsible for slaying the all-powerful Queen Witch during a massive supernatural war. Many years later, the Queen Witch is resurrected and Kaulder must take her on alone because he’s the last witch hunter remaining. However, that’s where Wood’s character steps in. He plays Dolan the 37th, a priest tasked with assisting Kaulder during his mission to take down the Queen Witch once and for all. In Cooties, Wood faces another form of supernatural evil - zombie children. When a cafeteria food virus turns an elementary school full of kids into bloodthirsty killers, the teachers must band together in order to make it out alive.

While in San Diego for Comic-Con promoting both movies, I got the opportunity to talk to Wood on the Lionsgate press line to find out more about what it means to be a Dolan and about his experience producing Cooties. Check out what he had to say about both films and watch him give me a serious talking to when I admit that I’ve never been to Fantastic Fest in the video interview below. Cooties hits select theaters and VOD on September 18th, The Last Witch Hunter gets a nationwide release on October 23rd, and Fantastic Fest runs from September 24th to October 1st.
