Elizabeth Banks has been keeping busy these past couple of years.  She starred in no less than eight films in the last two years including "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and "W".  Her next film will have her starring alongside Russel Crowe in writer-director Paul Haggis' ("Crash") "Next Three Days".  The film will be a remake of the 2008  French thriller "Pour elle" and will center on an ordinary couple who find themselves in an unthinkable situation and have to make desperate choices that will test the limits of love. To find out what this unthinkable situation is and what else Elizabeth Banks has coming up hit the jump.

I've never heard of the film that this film will be a remake of and the film still seems to be unavailable on dvd over here.  By looking for more info about it I did find this plot synopsis for the film: "Lisa and Julien are married and lead a happy uneventful life with their son Oscar. But their life radically changes one morning, when the police comes to arrest Lisa on murder charges. She's sentenced to 20 years of prison. Convinced of his wife's innocence, Julien decides to act. How far will he be willing to go for her?"

I want to be excited for this one since I do like Elizabeth Banks and Russel Crowe, but I dont know.  This seems like a pretty standard thriller plot to me.  I'm also wondering why Paul Haggis would chose this as his next project  I will say, though, that a lot of thrillers do follow a lot of the same basic plotlines and it really is all about the execution.  There has to be something that both Haggis and Crowe see in the original film and I wonder what that is.  If the dvd was on netflix I'm sure I would bump it to the top of my queue tonight.

Variety also gives a small update on what else Elizabeth Banks has coming up.  She is attached to star in the comedy "What was I Thinking?" with Leslie Mann and will also star in the workplace comedy "Forever 21," which she's also producing.  Meanwhile, her new co star,  Russel Crowe, can be seen in Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood" next year as the egendary hero
