Lost alumna Emilie de Ravin has a recurring role on ABC’s freshman drama, Once Upon a Time, but has recently landed another pilot for the network. She is set to co-star in Americana, a soap revolving around a famous fashion family. Here are some other recent casting additions:

  • Twilight’s Edi Gathegi will star opposite Kyle Bornheimer in the ABC comedy pilot, White Van Man.
  • The CW has added Nicole Gale Anderson and Nina Lisandrello to their Beauty and the Beast drama pilot.
  • Martin Landau will team up with Roland Emmerich for an untitled ABC drama pilot.
  • Another Twilight alum, Chaske Spencer will join Ethan Embry, Megan Ferguson and Jake McLaughlin in NBC’s Western drama pilot, The Frontier.

on de Ravin's addition to Americana. She is expected to play Francesca, the daughter of iconic fashion designer, Robert Soulter (Anthony LaPaglia). Francesca must contend with her father's lack of confidence in her to run the company and the addition of a young fashion designer who upsets the familial balance.

Deadline also reported on White Van Man, Beauty and the Beast and Martin Landau's project. White Van Man is a blue-collar comedy that concerns Jack (Bornheimer) reluctantly taking over the handyman business from his father, Tony (J.K. Simmons).  Gathegi has been cast as Darren, who works for Tony. Also cast in the pilot as Tony's teenage nephew is Johnny Pemberton.

Beauty and the Beast, loosely based on the 1980s series starring Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman, stars Kristen Kreuk as Catherine, an NYPD homicide detective. The romance-meets-procedural also features a Beast by the name of Vincent Koslow, a survivor of a horrible military experiment gone awry. Lisandrello will play Catherine's friend and squad partner, Tess, while Anderson will play Catherine's younger sister.

Emmerich's untitled drama plot centers on an astrophysics grad student by the name of Carter (Max Thieriot) who learns he is the chosen one who must defeat a great evil. Landau will play Carter's friend and familial estate executor, Mr. Armin, a blind German World War II veteran.

Finally, from THR comes details of The Frontier, from writer and executive producer, Shaun Cassidy. The Western drama follows a group of pioneers who head west from Missouri across uncharted lands in the 1840s. Spencer will play Eli, the optimistic cook who looks after his delusional aunt, Luisa. Embury will star as DJ, a black-humored sort who's in a loveless marriage with Payton (Megan Ferguson); she's described as a  "Georgia girl who is half Scarlett O'Hara and half Tallulah Bankhead." Other travelers include, McLaughlin, Bridget Regan, Al Weaver and Gina Bramhill. The Frontier will be directed and executive produced by Thomas Schlamme.
