While the world has unfortunately lost the great Alan Rickman, the news of his passing certainly hit his friends, family, and fellow actors hardest of all. With that in mind, it's with a special sort of grief that Harry Potter cast members Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe remembered their late co-star. Author J.K. Rowling also joined them in expressing her sorrow over the loss of Rickman, the brilliant actor who may always feel like the only person who could have brought her mysterious and tormented Severus Snape to life.

Rickman was certainly known for more than his severe-yet-sensitive character in the Harry Potter series, but that character left a strong impression on the current social consciousness. That's understandable considering he played Snape in all eight Harry Potter films over the course of ten years, and his presence on-screen as those classics are replayed again and again for years to come will be the only balm we have for his passing. Watson, Radcliffe, and Rowling expressed much the same sentiment over social media today.
