The new network TV season is upon us! While advanced buzz for this fall’s crop of new shows hasn’t exactly been ecstatic, there are a number of returning series that look to capitalize on last year’s success, especially at Fox. The network has unveiled a number of behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming seasons of breakout shows like Empire and the comedy The Last Man on Earth, as well as the Batman origin series Gotham (read Dave’s review of Season 2 here). There’s also Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is entering its third season with a guest appearance by Bill Hader in the Season 3 premiere.
And Fox has also unveiled behind-the-scenes shots from some of its new series, like Scream Queens, a horror-comedy anthology series from Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy. The show takes place at a sorority house on a college campus where recent events reignite a 20-year-old murder mystery. It sounds like a twist on the American Horror Story formula with a comedic bent, with Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, and Jamie Lee Curtis leading the cast.
There’s also the new medical procedural Rosewood starring Morris Chestnut, which revolves around a private pathologist living in Miami. And of course, in keeping with television’s new trend of mining films and older series for reboots, Fox has Minority Report on tap for the fall schedule, based on the Steven Spielberg sci-fi thriller of the same name. Stark Sands plays precog Dash who teams up with a police detective played by Meagan Good to try and stop the murders that he predicts.
