Next year, Entourage will be headed to the big screen.  However, while promoting his new movie Transformers: Age of Extinction, producer Mark Wahlberg says he wants the adaptation of the HBO comedy series to come out sooner than June 2015.  “I don’t think we’re going to be able to wait a year to release the movie. We’re going to show the studio sooner, rather than later,” Wahlberg tells Access Hollywood.  “If it makes most sense to wait until June, we’ll wait until June.”

Hit the jump for what Wahlberg had to say about his eagerness to already start work on an Entourage sequel and the cameos we can expect from New England Patriots players Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

Talking to Access Hollywood about the possibility of a sequel, Wahlberg says:

“I told [writer-director Doug Ellin], 'Let’s not wait for the movie to come out to start planning the next one because this is definitely going to be a big success.'  If I have anything to do with it there will be."

In other Entouage news, Steve was on the red carpet in Hong Kong for Transformers: Age of Extinction last night, and asked Wahlberg, a fellow New England Patriots fan, the status of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was injured last season.  Wahlberg replied:

I just saw [Rob Gronkowski] and the Entourage movie on Sunday night.  We watched the movie at my house.  He's got quite a few bits in the movie.  Partying and dancing, yeah.  There's something with Julian Edelman holding a funnel full of beer.  We thought it would be funny to put him in a cast and a sling and a knee brace.  But he's healthy.  He's up and running.  He'll be playing football at my son's birthday, actually.

The thought of Rob Gronkowski playing football at a kid's birthday party is far more amusing to me than anything from Entourage.  That's the footage I want to see.
