Eli Roth The Bear Jew inglorious bastards press junket interview image.jpg

While Eli Roth is primarily known for his writing and directing skills, he's slowly building up a resume as an actor. And as one of the leads in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds", this might be a role that opens up a new door for the filmmaker.

In the film, Eli plays Sgt. Donny Donowitz - also known as 'The Bear Jew'. I won't spoil the reason why he's called that...but I guess it wouldn't hurt to mention he's not a nice Jew. Anyway, I recently got to talk with The Bear Jew about making the movie, working for Quentin, the violence in the film, and a lot more. Take a look:

But before watching the interview you need to know something. Shortly before my scheduled interview time, Eli was in the hallway of the hotel and he saw me talking with some people. He asked why I didn't attend the Comic-Con screening of "Inglourious Basterds" and I explained I had a lot going on and with a screening a few days later in L.A., I'd catch it back at home. He then accused me of being a "Twilight" super fan and how "Twilight" was the reason I couldn't make the screening. While he was joking around with me....I decided to keep it going as our interview started...

Eli Roth

  • I ask if the rumor of him camping out for Hall H and Twilight was true
  • When he heard Jews killing Nazis was he immediately in
  • The violence in the film and with his character
  • Does he have a new respect for actors after filming this
  • What else is he working on right now
  • What's the best part of doing this publicity tour
