Since there is buzz surrounding the upcoming release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it might be time to discuss one of Marvel's projects that's still in prduction. Secret Invasion was a comic book written by Brian Michael Bendis in 2008 which tells the story of how Skrulls have infiltrated the ranks of Earth's politicians and heroes. Skrulls are an alien race which have popped up periodically throughout the MCU, most notably in Captain Marvel. Disney has announced that they will be releasing a miniseries surrounding the events in the Secret Invasion comic books. In this miniseries fans will get a look at the conspiracy of the Skrulls penetrating Earth's defenses.

Not much has been revealed about Secret Invasion. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) will be at the center of the investigation. It has been recently announced that Jackson will be accompanied by Amelia Clarke and Olivia Colman, both currently cast in unknown roles. The show is set to release at some point in 2022, but for now, fans can only speculate as to who is going to turn out to be a Skrull imposter.

Heroes are Skrulls

The Secret Invasion comic books featured a huge hero crossover event which revealed that many of the popular Marvel heroes have actually been Skrulls in disguise. One of the end scene credits of Spider-man: Far From Home revealed Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Nick Fury to be Skrull imposters. This is likely setting up the events of Secret Invasion on Disney+, as these Skrull characters are poised to return.

While we don't have details on what hero might be ousted as a Skrull, we know that it's probably not just one, but many of the heroes we know and love. We learn, in the comics, that some Skrull have the ability to mimic the powers of Earth's heroes, which will most likely come into play in Secret Invasion.

Not all Skrulls are evil

In Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers is fighting against the Kree, who are at war with the Skrulls. Danvers helps a group of refugee Skrull escape from Kree attackers. We will most likely see Skrull and humans working together to stop whatever invasion the Skrulls have planned.

While his actions remain in question, Talos, the Skrull impersonating Nick Fury in the credit scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home, may work with Nick Fury in Secret Invasion to stop the evil plot to take over earth. While there are many villains that could make an MCU appearance soon, it may not be all the Skrulls.

Hawkeye and Black Widow

In the Secret Invasion comic books, Hawkeye and Black Widow make the first discovery of Skrull on earth, shape-shifting as government agents. They find out that by injuring or killing the Skull reverts them back into their original form.

Since this show will take place after the event of Avengers: Endgame, we know that Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) is dead after sacrificing herself for the soul stone. However, the MCU is full of surprises and since the Black Widow and Hawkeye movies, we know that Yelena Belova could be the new Black Widow, teaming up with Hawkeye in Secret Invasion to save earth.

Hank Pym

Most fans remember Hank Pym from Ant-Man as a scientist working for S.H.I.E.L.D. and father to Hope van Dyne, or the Wasp. In the comic books however, Hank turns out to be a high valued Skrull disguised as Hank Pym. This is a pivitol moment in the story because Hank is such an old member of S.H.I.E.L.D. that he has secrets and information that could destroy them.

We may see Michael Douglas return as Hank in Secret Invasion as a Skrull in disguise. It's not confirmed that the Disney show will coincide with the story from the comic books, but this would be an amazing detail to keep within the show.

Fantastic 4 Reveal

A big character who helps uncover the mystery of the invasion is Reed Richards, leader of The Fantastic Four. It has rumored that The Fantastic Four will get another chance to redeem themselves on screen in the near future, most likely in 2023.

This would be the perfect way to introduce some characters from The Fantastic Four. Without giving too much away, in the comic books it is Reed Richards who discovers that Hank Pym as a Skrull. Secret Invasion will most likely give us a glimpse into the future of the MCU.

Tracksuit Mafia are Skrull

Tracksuit Mafia from Hawkeye

In the Disney+ show Hawkeye a criminal organization called the Tracksuit Mafia start making a name for themselves in New York City. We come to learn in Hawkeye that the mob boss Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D'Onofrio, has become the new leader of the street gang. Fisk first made his appearance on the Netlfix show Daredevil.

An interesting detail that may give the Tracksuit Mafia away as Skrulls is from the Disney+ show Loki. When Loki first arrives at the TVA in handcuffs there is a quick shot of a Skrull wearing a tracksuit. While it can be brushed off as just a coincidence, this may give clues to the Tracksuit Mafia possibly being Skrulls.

Young Skrull is Veranke

Another small detail with big implications was a scene in Captain Marvel when a young Skrull, who was Talos' daughter, can be seen playing Uno with a young Monica Rambeau, who later becomes an agent of S.W.O.R.D. and gets stuck in Wanda's Westview Anomaly in WandaVision.

This young Skrull could be the future Skrull Princess, Vernake, and Talos and Soren could be trying to stop the invasion to help their daughter realize her place as princess. However, this is all speculation and fans will have to wait until Secret Invasion comes out on Disney+ later this year.
