Warner Bros. has debuted new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trailer.  Directed by David Yates, this new magical film is also the first one scripted by Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, with Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne playing the wizard Newt Scamander.

This new trailer instantly pulls us back into the magical world of Harry Potter, and even though this new adventure takes place in New York seventy years before the events of that saga, it still invokes Hogwarts and Albus Dumbledore by name.  Thankfully, it doesn't just rest on its Harry Potter cred, and tries to set up the world as magical and worth revisiting.  Since November is still a decent time away, they're wisely holding off on character introductions beyond Scamander, but I can't wait to return to this wonderful world Rowling has dreamed up.

Check out the new trailer below.  The film also features Katherine Waterston as Tina; Tony Award winner Dan Fogler as Jacob; and Alison Sudol as Tina’s sister, Queenie. Also starring Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove and Colin FarrellFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens November 18th.

Here's the official synopsis for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures.  Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
