20th Century Fox has released a new Fantastic Four TV spots, and it actually makes the movie look…fun? I suppose the dark and gloomy trailers haven’t been tracking too well, and Fox is pivoting on how to sell the characters. I would say this is a significant improvement, and while it proves that marketing doesn’t really tell you about the movie, I’m hoping that Fantastic Four is going to remember that superhero movies can be an uplifting experience rather than something “grounded”, which seems a bit of a pointless goal when one of your characters can engulf himself in flame and fly.

However, with this new TV spot also comes a new image, and it confirms that the Thing has no thing. The posters had hinted at this tragic revelation, but it looks like life will be even worse for Ben Grimm. Not only is he a rock monster; he also has lost his penis. At best, it’s hidden behind crotch rocks.
