Dwayne Johnson shared a new photo from the set of Fast & Furious 8 showing off a more, let’s say, traditional Hobbs. A first look at the character in the film was more Hobbs meets Sons of Anarchy — the hulking agent traded in his bullet-proof vest for a leather vest and tank top with a pointed goatee. It's unclear at which point during the film he’ll make this transition, but we at least know he’ll be getting back in the swing of things one way or the other.

Johnson posted the new photo to social media, writing, “The Iceman cometh. And I don’t fucketh around.” The actor teased a darker turn for the character. “When you strip a man of all he has. All that's important to him. You force him to return to his roots,” he wrote, “and sometimes that's a very dangerous and twisted place.” The Rock further stated that he wanted a new version of Hobbs to storm in, get the fans’ blood pumping, and set up a possible new course for him in the future, whatever that may hold.

See Hobb’s in the new photo below.

A number of films are being developed within the Fast & Furious umbrella, a few of them being spin-offs. By the sound of Johnson’s Instagram musings, Hobbs seems ripe for this treatment. Charlize Theron joins the franchise as a new villain named Cipher, who will apparently bring out a completely different side of Vin Diesel’s Dom. Perhaps she’ll do the same for Hobbs, hence the changing looks.

Fast & Furious 8 is directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and also returns Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black, Kurt Russell, and Jason Statham. Newcomers include longtime fan of the franchise (and cars in general) Helen Mirren, Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), and Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones).

Fast & Furious 8 will hit theaters beginning April 14, 2017.
