AMC has released a new Fear the Walking Dead featurette teasing the slow-burn tension and family dynamics of the new companion series. The Walking Dead spinoff series will take place in Los Angeles during the beginning of the zombie outbreak, a.k.a. everything that happened while Rick was in a coma. Fear promises to reveal parts of the zombie apocalypse we've never seen -- the initial chaos, the first-responders, and how a "dysfunctional blended family" pulls together in order to survive.

Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Elizabeth Rodriguez. Get to know a little bit about their characters and how they'll fare in the zombie apocalypse with the featurette below. The series debuts in the U.S. Sunday, August 23rd at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with an extended 90-minute episode. The premiere will also air on AMC Global channels around the world simultaneously and will then re-air in local time zones during primetime.
