Overture Film has released the first official image of Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl in Kick-Ass) as Abby in director Matt Reeves Let Me In.  Based on the best-selling Swedish novel Lat den Ratte Komma In (Let the Right One In) by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and the highly-acclaimed film of the same name, the remake has dealt with a lot of online scorn as everyone loves the original film and no one wants to see it ruined.

While this may shock people...I'm open to the remake. Yes, I love the original film, but hardly anyone saw it.  Perhaps the remake will get a lot more people to seek out the original.

Of course if Matt Reeves has made a terrible movie, I take back my kind words.  But I loved Cloverfield, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Hit the jump for the full synopsis, cast info, and the image in high-resolution.

Twelve-year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar®nominee Richard Jenkins). A frail, troubled child about Owens’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements.
