Be aware there are spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5 - "The Bells".
Game of Thrones just torched your fan theories harder than Daenerys torched King's Landing, so you better believe the internet is riled up with all kinds of comedic firepower at the moment. The penultimate episode of HBO's mega-hit saw the Breaker of Chains finally touch down in King's Landing, and she did a real one-up on her infamous father, going full-scale Mad Queen and torching the citizens, innocent or otherwise. Naturally, folks have a whole lot to say about that.
But while it would be easy to crown the fully Targed-out Dany the winner of this week's Game of Memes -- and her heel turn certainly prompted the most ire -- "The Bells" was packed with major moments and bountiful fuel for internet comedy. Qyburn got straight up yeeted to death, for goodness sake. Elsewhere, Jaime returned to Cersei died in each other's arms, Cleganebowl finally got hype for real, Jon Snow got a clue, and The Golden Company went out of Game of Thrones the same way they came in -- not mattering a damn bit.
She may have finally lost the throne for good, but in my heart, Cersei walked away the queen of memes as casually as she walked away from Cleganebowl. Raise your glass (overflowing with wine, natch) to the original Mad Queen.
