The final moment of Game of Thrones season 5 was a shocker, to say the least. Spoiler Alert: Turn back now if you still haven’t caught up before the season 6 premiere, but the finale saw Jon Snow’s Night's Watch turn against their new Commander, each of them plunging a blade through Snow, leaving his body to bloody the snowy ground. Audiences at home were trying to figure out how this could have happened. Perhaps if one particular scene hadn’t been cut from the episode, we might’ve been able to see it coming sooner.

EW unveiled a deleted scene from the finale that will be included on the Game of Thrones Season 5 DVD and Blu-ray set, which will be available on March 15th. The moment in question sees an interaction between Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale) and Castle Black’s captured Wildling, Tormund Giantsbane (Kristofer Hivju). Thorne, someone who’s always had it out for Snow, tries to make the barbarian warrior quiver in his animal pelts, but Tormund is able to get under his skin by saying, “You must no longer be in charge, then.”

Thorne was clearly perturbed when Snow was voted the new Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch over him, even if Thorne choked during the epic battle with the Wildlings during “The Watchers on the Wall” episode of Season 4. Walking away from that moment, you just knew the man was going to retaliate against Snow; not only was it an insult to have someone like “the bastard” pull rank, but Thorne was equally humiliated by a Wildling, no less.

What happened next was something that still weighs on fans, but the question remains, is Jon Snow actually dead? Should we believe Kit Harington when he says, “Jon Snow is dead,” even when Lady Melisandre, someone who we know has the ability of resurrection, happened to show up at Castle Black before this moment? Celebs and crew members have lied before, more recently with The Walking Dead and the whole Glenn fiasco.
