Video Game News: Gamescom Trailers for STAR TREK: THE GAME, WORLD OF WARCRAFT: MISTS OF PANDARIA and More; Plus Penelope Cruz as Mario

How about we open up page two with a couple of Marvel updates?  First up is this teaser from Marvel’s parent site featuring some big green meany getting all worked up about a new game coming to the mobile platform.  It seems like it will tie in to Marvel’s current Facebook game, Avengers Alliance, as alluded to in this briefing from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury:

Marvel also has a console game coming out with Avengers: Battle for Earth that will be available on both the Wii U and the Xbox 360 Kinect. The motion-controlled interface lets you become one of your favorite characters from the Marvel universe to engage in one-on-one battles. Matt Goldberg and I got to see the game in motion during Comic-Con and it looks like a lot of fun. This one’s going to make you work for it.  Check out the trailer for Avengers: Battle for Earth below (via CBM):

Back in June, we told you that the cast of the upcoming Star Trek sequel would be lending their voices to Star Trek: The Game. The stand-alone co-op features the voices of Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin, as you guide James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock in a battle against the Gorn.  Check out the new trailer for Star Trek: The Game (via IGN):

Our last trailer of the day is of epic proportions…if you like kung-fu pandas.  The fourth expansion in the MMORPG World of Warcraft will raise the maximum player level, introduce a new character class and playable race, not to mention all the dungeons and raids you can ask for (until the fifth expansion comes out).  Check out Blizzard’s site for more details and enjoy the gorgeous trailer for Mists of Pandaria below:

Now, finally, what better way to end this extensive recap than to watch Penelope and Monica Cruz play Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo 3DS?  I have no idea what demographic Nintendo was going after with this TV spot, but it sure got my attention.  Check it out below (via Heat Vision):

Until next time!
