I’ll give you a second to read that headline again so you know that the next few paragraphs are not written in stone. In a report from The Sun (via Slashfilm), they suggest that former ER co-stars George Clooney and Noah Wyle are in competition for the role of Apple-icon Steve Jobs for a biopic by Sony. While there is no factual evidence to support this, Wyle did once portray Jobs in the TV biography Pirates of Silicon Valley and Clooney is being courted to play in almost everything. Rumor or not, Sony is definitely anxious to get production moving on the biopic and is banking on Aaron Sorkin to pen the script. Hit the jump for more on this project. While Clooney certainly has the chops to play the role, I can’t imagine he’d give up that Hollywood hair to more adequately portray Jobs. Perhaps, since we’re talking crazy anyway, both actors could play the role at various stages of the icon’s life. Clooney, the self-assured, turtle-neck-sporting genius giving speeches to the gathered masses and Wyle, the college drop-out climbing his way up the tech ladder.Clooney’s The Descendants is currently in theaters and his next role in Children of Men-director Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity will be out on October 19th, 2012. You can check out a review of The Descendants here and see what Clooney has to say about Gravity here. Wyle is next set to star as George Pickett in the TV mini-series To Appomattox. I’m personally looking forward to his return in season 2 of TNT’s Falling Skies. Oh, and “one more thing…” Check out the video below for an emotional scene between Wyle as Steve Jobs and Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates in Pirates of Silicon Valley. (The man is a lock for the role!)
