While we eagerly await a new Ghostbusters trailer, the upcoming film has taken to the covers of the upcoming issue of Empire Magazine. The newsstand cover features Slimer in all of his green, ectoplasmic glory and I’m curious to see what kind of personality they’ll give to this new iteration and how much of a role he’ll in the upcoming reboot.

Subscribers will get kind a cover featuring the new Ghostbusters, Erin (Kristen Wiig), Jillian (Kate McKinnon), Abby (Melissa McCarthy), and Patty (Leslie Jones), and it’s kind of a weak image. It’s like they were able to get the actresses together for a photoshoot and then forgot to photoshop in cool stuff like ghosts or beams from the proton packs or anything exciting. I’m glad they’re enthusiastic, but what a painfully bland cover.

Check out the two Ghostbusters covers below along with an image from the issue. The film opens July 15th, and also stars Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Chris Hemsworth.
